Frequently
Asked Questions
How Do I Make An Appointment with Advanced Ob-Gyn Associates
Office hours are by appointment only. This provides
the most convenient and best service for you. Please
call 214.276.9902 well in advance to make your appointment, explain
briefly to the receptionist why you are needing to
see your physician so they can schedule your appointment
appropriately.
If you find that you cannot keep your
appointment, please call the office at least 24 hours before the scheduled time and reschedule your appointment.
This will make it possible for another patient to be
seen during that time. If you do have an emergency,
call the office and we will try to rearrange the schedule
appointments so that you can be seen later that day.
May I Bring my Children to the Ob-Gyn Appointment?
We have a small waiting area. If you have children,
we do not mind you bringing them with you to your appointment;
as long as they are well behaved, and do not bother
our other patients. If you have a rambunctious child,
or one of your children may be sick; for the health
and comfort of our patients, we respectfully request
you do not bring them with you to your appointment.
Our goal is to honor your scheduled time.
Our ob-gyn physicians and nurses make every effort to see you
at your scheduled time. We believe strongly in the value
of your time and we do our best to keep you from having
to wait for a long period of time. However, in the specialty
of Obstetrics and Gynecology; deliveries, surgical delays
and emergency patients may cause unforeseen and unpredictable
delays. We beg your indulgence and understanding. The
receptionist will keep you informed of such delays and
be happy to reschedule your appointment if your other
commitments are affected.
Laboratory and Radiology Results
You will be notified by phone of all abnormal laboratory
and radiological test results, such as blood tests,
sonograms, cultures, pap smears, biopsies, mammograms,
and bone density tests performed or ordered by your
physician. For all normal test results, we will either
call you or send you a postcard in the mail. If you
do not hear from our office within two weeks regarding
your results of completed tests we have ordered, performed,
or arranged, please contact our office.

Telephone Calls
We welcome you to call the office with any questions
or concerns you might have about your care. Please
make all non-emergency phone calls during the weekdays,
when our ob-gyn doctors and nurses are in the office and have
access to your records. Your doctor's office schedule
varies with their surgery schedules and coverage of
labor and delivery, but there is always a nurse in
the office that can take your call, answer your questions,
and contact your physician or the physician on-call
if needed.
After hours, there is always our answering
service to take your message and contact your physician
or the physician on-call, and they will call you back.
If the call is for a medication, please have available
before you call, your pharmacy name (make sure it is
a 24 hour pharmacy if after hours) and phone number,
the name and dosage of the medication, and your name
and birth date.
Dallas Area Hospitals
If you require hospitalization or surgery,
your doctor or the physician on call will see you daily.
They will be happy to discuss your condition with you,
your family, or friends, but only if you so direct.
Please designate one family member for this exchange
of information.
Insurance and Fees
Advanced Ob-Gyn Associates physicians are on most insurance plans, and most insurance contracts are honored.
If you have a plan in which the physician you have
selected is not contracted, our office will work with
you to either accept the insurance contracted rates
or create an equitable working relationship with you.
Our staff is always happy to discuss your insurance
coverage with you, providing accurate coverage information
and recommendations.
Fees for service are within the customary range for
this area, and reflect the level of care you will receive
as well as the extensive training and experience of
each Advanced Ob-Gyn Associates physician in their
field. Fees charged to each patient are based on the
services provided. You will receive an itemized charge
ticket at the end of each visit. We ask that you make
your co-pay as required by your insurance carrier,
or pay for your treatment at the time of service. Always
bring your insurance card with you to each visit, and
provide information about changes of insurance, address,
or telephone numbers.
Even though your ob-gyn physician may make recommendations
about your treatment, your insurance company may not
be willing to pay for that procedure, treatment, or
appointment. We will attempt to pre-certify all your
care and make you aware of your insurance's decision
as quickly as possible. You will be responsible to
pay the practice your co-pay and deductibles.
It is recommended that your discuss fee management
for your care with the receptionist in order to arrange
payment schedules that are convenient and acceptable. If
there are any unexpected financial problems, please
let us know immediately, and we will be happy to try
and work with you on the payment process.

Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Before your first visit, you will be given a user
name and password and asked to go to our Electronic
Medical Records (EMR) site, DigiChart, to register
and fill out your medical history. You can click on
the DigiChart link on our home page to go to the site
to fill out your medical history and read about the
DigiChart system. This usually takes 30-45 minutes
and can be done in the privacy of your home. Basic
background information will be requested to initiate
your medical record. In addition, extensive family
history and personal medical history questions are
included in the background questionnaire so that your
physician can know as much as possible about you before
your appointment.
DigiChart is an Internet based EMR.
It is secure
in storing your private information and is HIPAA compliant,
while allowing your physician access to your records
in an efficient and timely manner. We have been using
this same EMR for 3 years and have not been made aware
of any breeches of the system's security by the company
or by our patients. All of our records are stored
electronically and we are unable to accommodate any
patient that is unwilling to have their information
in our EMR. For your protection, this record is completely
secure.
We will not release any medical information
regarding you or anyone in your family, unless we have
your written authorization.
If you do not have access
to a computer to fill out your information before you
arrive, we have a dedicated computer in our office
that you may use to complete your medical history and
insurance information. We strongly urge you to complete
this process BEFORE you come in because the computer
may already be in use by another patient, and you may
have to wait to use it. This will cause your appointment
to be late and require you to be in our office much
longer than you had planned.
Please have the name, address, and phone number of
your primary care physician, and referring doctor (if
different), so that we may keep them informed of your
medical care and progress.
